The Mercury Straight Six
The Mercury Straight Six contains 6 x 750ml bottles of The Mercury – a 2013 Grampians Reserve Shiraz.
This wine is produced for Turn Back Time Radio by Mountainside Wines, a small family-owned and operated winery nestled into the base of Mount Cole on the edge of the Grampians Wine region in Victoria. The winery produces Shiraz, Viognier and Nebbiolo wines, made from grapes grown on the property.
Named for Freddie Mercury (1946 – 1991).
Born Farrokh Balsara in Zanzibar, Africa. Entered the Australian Singles Charts 21 times as the lead singer of Queen. Also entered the charts as a solo artist in 1985 with I Was Born To Love You.
The Mercury displays a soft round bouquet of berries followed by rich red berry flavours, black pepper and a hint of toast. It has a supple mouthfeel with firm tannins and a long clean finish.
